The American Restoration Movement
Aequitism seeks to create a depolarized and more balanced government that addresses societal challenges without infringing on individual rights. We champion a society where individuals are free to pursue their own lifestyles, provided they do not negativly impact the livelihood of others. By bridging opposing ideologies and reforming failing institutions, Aequitism aims to create a more just and equitable future for all.
Aequitism aims to create a prominent third party that is largely centralized in policy making. The party will be structured as such to ensure gradual progress while promoting unity. This will be achieved by closely abiding by the core values, guiding principle, and Order of Considerations of Aequitism. Aequitists will create legislature based on the polarized positions of the left and right. In doing so, careful consideration of opposing political ideas will protect the liberties of both the left and the right while still providing progress which benefits both sides. As an appeal to all, Aequitists instill the mindset that personal liberties are fundamental to a democracy and that these personal liberties should not be infringed upon so long as the liberty does not negatively impact the livelihood of another.
Aequitism was founded with the goal of uniting and centralizing the American political stage. In recent years, American politics have become polarized to the point of civil unrest. Continuously, candidates create political campaigns which appeal further to either the left or right. The generalized American people are not as extreme as the political system created for us would imply. A growing number of Americans identify as independents, a trend which appears to be steadily increasing as the core beliefs of the two major political forces further divide. This portion of Americans deserve comfort in their vote and advocation of a candidate, and that is what Aequitism will provide. A safe candidate who abides by a rigid system of considerations, and who advocates for politically centered policies which will represent the average American.
Aequitism calls for an overhaul of many American systems including healthcare, education, immigration, and Congressional political structure. The "American Restoration Movement" as we call it, encourages change to these systems first which would greatly increase the quality of life for the populace. Through compromising ideas, the legislature Aequitists wish to sponsor has been carefully crafted to ensure the positions of both the left and right are represented.
The nation will not change without the guidance of its largest political influence, you. It has become increasingly common to hear one say that they are not active in politics because their vote doesn't matter. Likewise, you may hear people suggest that the two dominate political ideologies do not represent who they are as a person. To this, I entertain the thought, become the change. If the ideas of the two leading political ideologies do not represent you. If the two party system creates a feeling of mistrust. If the two parties have caused division that you have been able to see in your personal life, be the change. You are the driving force of our nation. Please, act on this opportunity and join us. The future of the nation is in your hands, lead it.
Lastly, to those who may be concerned at the notion of compromise, please note that Aequitism is not about compromising for compromise's sake. Aequitism is about finding solutions that are fair, just, and sustainable for all. There is no reason to allow this division to carry on. Join the American Restoration and help us build a brighter future for our nation.
Encourage legislature which contributes to the common good without impeding on the fiscal and life style choices of others.
Balance: Aequitism aims to find a balance between individual liberty and the common good, avoiding extreme ideologies.
Rejection of Extremism: Aequitism rejects extremism and advocates for a more moderate and balanced approach to politics. In doing so, Aequitists will promote legislature which is middle ground, but moderately progressive. The goal is to progress the nation gradually to avoid amplifying the ideas of polarization.
Fairness: Aequitism prioritizes fairness and equity for all citizens, regardless of their background, race, political affiliation or socioeconomic status. A nation which alienates any group of people is doomed to tread in civil unrest until all people have been represented.
Individual Liberties: Aequitism promotes the ideas of individual freedoms and self-determination, as long as these freedoms do not negatively impact the fiscal and life style choices of others.
Social Justice: Aequitism aims to address systemic inequalities and promote equal opportunities for all members of society.
Civic Engagement: Aequitism encourages active participation in the democratic process, including voting, volunteering, and advocating for change. The priviledged in society have the moral obligation to aid others. This extends to the ability to vote and participate in government. To not participate in government is to allow these detrimental cycles to continue.
Peaceful Revolution: Aequitism advocates for gradual, systemic change through democratic means, focusing on education, healthcare, and unity.
One must note that, when considering whether legislature fits within the confines of our framework, questions may appear vague. This is not a disadvantage to the ideology, but rather a strength. When the considerations for our framework are too narrow, it prevents reasonable compromise from being an effective option. Therefore, our Order of Consideration should be taken as a rigid guideline as opposed to a checklist.
Impact on Individual Liberty:
Does the legislation infringe upon the fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals? i.e. The Guiding Principle.
Does it promote individual autonomy and self-determination?
Does it avoid unnecessary restrictions on personal choices and lifestyles? (Abolishment of a liberty for the sake of ones own personal beliefs)
Impact on Equity and Fairness:
Does the legislation promote generally equal opportunities for all citizens, regardless of race, gender, socioeconomic status, political affiliation, or other factors?
Does it address systemic inequalities and promote a more just and equitable society?
Does it avoid policies that disproportionately harm marginalized or disadvantaged groups?
Impact on the Common Good:
Does the legislation contribute to the well-being of society as a whole?
Does it promote the long-term sustainability and prosperity of the nation?
Does it avoid policies that harm the environment, public health, or the overall well-being of future generations?
Balance and Compromise:
Does the legislation seek to find a balance between competing interests and find common ground among different groups?
Does it avoid extreme or divisive policies that exacerbate social and political tensions?
Does it promote constructive dialogue and collaboration among different stakeholders?
Long-Term Considerations:
What are the potential long-term consequences of this legislation?
How will this legislation inpact future generations?
Does it promote sustainable solutions that address the root causes of societal problems?
Ethical Considerations:
Does the legislation align with the Core Values and Guiding Principle of Aequitism?
Does it uphold the values of honesty, integrity, and public service?
